A major fire outbreak has razed parts of the Amuwo Odofin Industrial Estate in Mile 2, Lagos, causing panic among workers and residents in the area on Saturday evening.

The inferno reportedly broke out at about 6:00 p.m., with thick smoke billowing into the sky as flames engulfed sections of the industrial complex.

Emergency officials confirmed that the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service was swiftly deployed to the scene and is actively working to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.

Fire fighters Battle Blaze as Public Urged to Remain Calm

Speaking on the incident, the Controller of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, assured members of the public that the situation was under control.

“We are currently on top of the situation, and members of the public should remain calm,” she said.

As of press time, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and there has been no official confirmation on the extent of damage or whether any casualties were recorded.
