Atlético Madrid, Fenerbahçe Table Offers for Ademola Lookman

Atlético Madrid have submitted an official bid for Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman as the transfer race intensifies.

The Spanish club’s offer is valued at around €25 million, with performance-related bonuses that could raise the deal to €30 million.

Turkish giants Fenerbahçe have responded with a stronger proposal. Their bid stands at €35 million fixed, plus an additional €5 million in bonuses.

Sources close to the negotiations indicate that Fenerbahçe are currently in pole position. Atlético Madrid are unlikely to progress unless they increase their offer to at least €40 million.

Lookman has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after attackers following a series of standout performances at club and international level. His pace, direct running and goal threat have attracted interest from several top sides.

Atlético view the 27-year-old as a suitable fit for Diego Simeone’s attacking rebuild. However, financial discipline could limit how far the La Liga club are willing to go.

Fenerbahçe, by contrast, are prepared to stretch their budget to secure the Nigerian international. The Istanbul club are keen to add proven quality as they push for domestic and European success.

Negotiations are expected to accelerate before the close of the transfer window. Unless Atlético Madrid return with an improved bid, the deal is likely to move in Fenerbahçe’s favour.
