Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has pledged to secure at least 95 percent of the state’s votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, citing increasing confidence in his administration’s inclusive governance.

Speaking at a massive rally held at the Murtala Mohammed Square in Kaduna, the governor said the large turnout and wave of defections into the ruling party demonstrated growing public trust in his leadership.

The event marked the official defection of four members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, five members of the House of Representatives, and thousands of supporters from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

With these new entrants, the APC now dominates the political landscape in Kaduna, controlling 13 out of 16 federal constituencies and 26 out of 34 seats in the State Assembly, compared to the PDP’s eight.

Addressing the crowd, Governor Sani assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented at the event that the APC had become “unstoppable” in Kaduna.

“We no longer have any real opposition in Kaduna,” he said. “Initially, I promised the President that we would deliver 80 percent of the votes, but with the unity we now enjoy, I can boldly say Kaduna will give APC 95 percent in 2027.”

He attributed the surge in support to his government’s commitment to equity, fairness, and inclusivity.

“Kaduna is Nigeria’s most diverse state, and we’ve turned that diversity into a strength. Since taking office, we haven’t witnessed any ethno-religious crisis. Poverty affects everyone regardless of tribe, faith, or politics, and our policies reflect that understanding,” Sani added.

The governor also assured defectors that they would be treated fairly, emphasizing that both old and new members of the APC would enjoy equal opportunities.

APC National Chairman Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, and Minister of Environment Balarabe Abbas Lawal were among the dignitaries at the rally.

Dr. Yilwatda praised the APC’s growing influence in Kaduna, describing the party as “the promised land” for Nigerian politicians. He added that both President Tinubu and Governor Sani deserve second terms based on their performance and leadership.

Speaker Abbas also commended the consolidation of APC’s dominance, noting that the party remains the strongest across all three senatorial districts in the state.

“From Zone 1 to Zone 3, APC is the party to beat in Kaduna,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Hon. Hussaini Jalo declared that Kaduna had effectively become a one-party state under the APC. He expressed confidence that both President Tinubu and Governor Sani would be re-elected in 2027.

Other prominent defectors include Hon. Sadiq Ango (Sabon Gari), Hon. Abdulkarim Husseini Ahmad (Kaduna South), and Hon. Aliyu Mustapha Abdullahi (Ikara/Kubau).

The rally, which drew thousands of supporters, was seen as a major show of strength for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
