Millions expected Saturday at anti-Trump demos across US

The final day of the movement’s rallies, which brings together more than 300 organizations, previously drew massive crowds on June 14, coinciding with Trump’s birthday military parade in Washington, D.C. It marked the largest wave of demonstrations since the billionaire Republican returned to the White House in January for his second term.

Four months later, organizers say over 2,600 protests are scheduled across the United States, with millions once again expected to join in cities and towns nationwide.

Speaking to reporters, Deirdre Schifeling, Chief Political and Advocacy Officer of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), said demonstrators aim to reaffirm the nation’s core values. “We are a country of equals, governed by laws that apply to everyone. We believe in due process and democracy and we will not be silenced,” she said.

Leah Greenberg, co-founder of the Indivisible Project, condemned the Trump administration’s decision to deploy the National Guard, crack down on undocumented immigrants, and target political rivals. “It’s the classic authoritarian playbook—threaten, smear, and instill fear to suppress dissent. But we refuse to be intimidated,” she declared.

Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers, described the protests as a moral duty to defend democratic values. “We have an obligation to fight for the people of America and ensure this remains a nation moving forward, not backward,” she said.

In addition to major rallies in Washington, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, and New Orleans, smaller towns across the country are also joining the movement. The “No Kings” campaign has even expanded internationally, with solidarity events planned in Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa, Canada.
